What is too much to bear?....this one.

The 23-year-old girl gangraped on a bus in south Delhi was brutalised so badly that she had only 5% of her intestine left inside her when she was brought to hospital on Sunday night.
On Wednesday, doctors at the Safdarjung Hospital removed the remaining 15 inches of intestine in a bid to stop the spread of a life-threatening infection that had begun to develop in her many injuries.

The girl is in a critical condition and faces the prospect of never being able to eat a meal in her life if she survives.But doctors said she was fighting on, and her brother told HT that she had written, “Mother, I want to live,” on a piece of paper.

As outrage continued to build across the nation, he added: “We want the culprits to be hanged as early as possible.”

A doctor in the hospital said that it appeared that the girl had been violated with a metal rod.

“It appears to be that a rod was inserted into her and it was pulled out with so much force that the act brought out her intestines along. That is probably the only thing that explains such severe damage to her intestines,” he said.

According to sources, one of the accused persons who were brought to the hospital for a medical examination on Tuesday confessed to having seen a rope-like object — likely her intestines — being pulled out of the girl by the other assailants on the bus. The sources said that the girl had bite marks on her body.

“There was permanent damage to her intestines, and with the intestines completely gone she will have to feed through intravenous fluids all her life. But that is secondary, our primary focus at the moment is to save her life,” said Dr BD Athani, Medical Superintendent, Safdarjung Hospital.

The surgery was performed around 10am and at 12.30pm she was brought back to the ICU.

According to doctors, the girl withstood the surgery well and her vital parameters such as blood pressure, urine output, pulse rate and respiration are within the acceptable range of normalcy. Dr Athani said that the girl's abdomen, which had been open until today, had been cleaned and closed, with a tube inserted in her stomach to drain fluids."We have done whatever possible, now it is the question of maintaining her. Fortunately, she is responding well to medicines, and we hope she doesn’t develop any further complications,” he said

Im horribly disgusted after hearing abt the news….

Hw cud any1 possibilly hv d heart 2 do tis 2 her..she was jes a girl..like me,like u…..like anybody..jes a helpless girl.Truly,these people are all insane,insensitive morons…sorry for the swear,bt they could hv treated her like a human atleast..,if nt exactly like a gal…I mean ..if u r so damn desperate,y not find some girls on street.There are plenty who would willingly offer their bodies thr..,what more in delhi.?!

This is of coz, not the first..perhaps many cases have occurred  which involves own blood..like father,brother,uncles…where is humanity?whr is mercy? The worst still many don’t report such incidents which they take as an insult to their life…its for sheer dignity purpose of the victim and the family…and even if it has been reported,the way thru to find justice is so very burdensome…despite your protest,for reasons that you are too sick to justify,regardless of ur legal arguments…,The court will still fish for  evidence if what u said cud be a lie,make you walk from one corner to another,with all those procedures,laws and committee..
UTTER GARBAGE.

The victims are devastated enough,it takes half a life to recover from the trauma,and an entire life to get justice.Seriously,to put myself at their shoes,it  feels as if another RAPE. The LAW..for God sake,you ppl are doing all tis while the person whose behaviour is in question sits by and watches?This is not justice.It’s another abuse.You are victimising the victim and probably entertaining the abuser.

My grief for this unlucky girls ,Canny Ong,Nurin Jazlin…many others…is flowing like neva had before..I gave up on sleep today and decided to write instead.Im typing furiously,talking to my laptop,telling how it feels to be another girl,letting the anger out.Im too aware of my surroundings though,my siblings are both sitting next to me..and I struggle not to make a sound as I weep my heart out. DUH! Such a disempowerment.

Can pls everyone stop worrying if the world is going to end,and do something abt this brutal violence.It should be tolerated NO MORE!!!!!Like seriously,..Isn’t there any assesment process that screens out predators?
